Chronic Effort Fanzine is back from the dead. Published in the ‘80’s Chronic Effort featured bands, poetry, comics, and art. This classic ‘zine has been resurrected on DVD. Mountain Punks Fight Dirty documents the collectively run El Nuevo Showspace in Asheville, NC. Fourteen bands in one evening featuring the likes of Raccoon Party, Jacuzzi Suicide, Ahleuchatistas, Wooden Tit, Subramanium, Dig Shovel Dig, Band Band Band Band, and Hope & Anchor. As if all this mayhem weren’t enough, all of this live music is churned with a heavy dose of graffiti and the thoughts of the collective members. Mountain Punks Fight Dirty chronicles a chunk of Asheville DIY history and gives critical insight into what it is like running an all ages showspace. |
